Ground Control

An intro level follow-along movement course that teaches hypermobile humans to feel more stable, move with control, and self-manage symptoms

We start Mon Oct 6th!

I'm Ready!

Ground Control Is For You If....

You don't know where to start in order to gain stability, awareness, and control of your hypermobile body.

You found that other "beginner" fitness programs (or even Physical Therapy) leave you with more pain and fatigue.

You like flow-based movement like Pilates and Yoga, but want intro classes with expert cuing designed for hypermobility.

Are you a hypermobile human struggling to get started with a movement practice?

If so, you’re definitely not alone. This is hands down the #1 issue I hear from my patients and clients when they first reach out to me.

When you’re dealing with pain, subluxations, injuries, fatigue, and the many co-conditions tied to hypermobility, knowing where to start is often the hardest part.

Of course, having unlimited access to a Physical Therapist who specializes in hypermobility would be ideal.

But the reality is that for most people, that just isn’t possible. Which means that, at least some of the time, you end up having to be your own PT.

You shouldn’t have to be your own PT. But until the medical community builds better awareness of EDS/HSD, there will be times when you do.

Most hypermobile humans I know are incredibly intelligent and highly educated about their condition. Sadly, that’s often necessary, but it’s also completely exhausting.

That’s why I designed this as a primarily follow-along course, with workout videos that guide you through gentle, full-body movements right away. I’ll talk you through everything so you can tune into your body, build that mind-body connection, and start feeling supported without having to overthink every step.

You’ll also get supplemental education on anatomy, pain management, and how to build your own tailored daily stabilization and mobility practice. But don’t worry. It’s delivered in small, digestible pieces, so you won’t feel overwhelmed. Instead, you’ll be able to integrate this valuable information into your daily life at your own pace.

If you’re like many of my patients and clients, you may have felt like:

🦓 You’ve gotten confused looks from coaches, trainers, or PTs when you can’t “feel” the right muscles during exercise
🦓 You don’t feel safe or secure in your body
🦓 You experience pain after exercise in random, unpredictable ways
🦓 Traditional fitness classes, trainers, or therapists don’t “get” how to work with hypermobility without causing flares
🦓 You want to feel stronger and more stable, but don’t know where to start
🦓 Doing a movement practice on your own led to pain or other symptoms
🦓 You want to return to higher-level activities, but feel unsure how
🦓 You wish you had tools you could use yourself to help with pain
🦓 PT helped somewhat, but only focused on one area and left you unsure what else to do

If any of this sounds familiar… I’ve got you! 🦓 🙌

Hypermobile Humans need a more nuanced approach to movement.

Hi!  I'm Dr. Melissa Koehl

I'm a Physical Therapist and Pilates instructor living hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS).

In addition to pain and injuries, I've also struggled with dysautonomia, MCAS, and GI dysfunction, and I deeply understand frustration and despair of hypermobility and chronic illness.

To manage my pain, I developed my own ChimeraFit method that combines the best of strength training, Pilates and yoga.  This method, along with learning how to manage the various co-conditions associated with hEDS,  helped me to get my life back and I'm extremely passionate about sharing this with my fellow hypermobile humans!
